Willie Rogers Robinson began his life's journey on November 26, 1946, in Teague, Texas, to parents Pauline and J.V Robinson. During his early years, Willie followed his family as they migrated throughout the south for seasonal farming work. Taking to heart the wisdom of his elders, appreciating and nurturing familial relationships and friendships, all while enduring and learning from life's trials,Wille developed a strong sense of duty and devotion to family. During his formative years, Willie became known for his work ethic. Always willing to lend a helping hand and earn money for his family, as well as to fund his love for sweets. Due to Willie's diligence and willingness to learn to earn, he became experienced in many trades before graduating Booker T Washington high school and joining the Marine Corps.

Willie began his military career training for the Vietnam war at eighteen years old. After traveling to many countries, surviving two combat tours, recovering and learning to live with the internal and external injuries of war, Willie kept pushing forward in his life. Guided by God, the strength of his family, friends, and later his beloved wife, Gloria Ann Robinson and daughters, Kimberly, Erica, and Kira, Wille became dedicated to building his mind and strengthening his body.

Willie's extensive military career didn't stop after returning from war. Willie would also serve in the Navy, and later retire while in the Army Reserves. All of this while also briefly becoming a member of the Black Panthers, working as a shrimper/fisherman, postal worker, and lamp maker, while also participating in many other industries and civic groups.

As a result of Willie's willingness to live, learn, and understand, he would continue to expand his unique tribe of friends. Which inturn, further influenced his peaceful demeanor and alternative approaches to navigating through life's challenges. Overtime, Willie would adopt Rastafarian philosophies and teachings. Becoming a believer and active proponent for unity, peace, love, and lots of laughter. Building further upon his foundation of positivity, it was only natural that Willie would raise and teach his daughters, neices, nephews,  and grandchildren with a gentle hand and mindful words.

Willie was a child of Jah (God) who served as a soldier for peace. As a man, husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, Wille was able to thrive with love and now, he will rest on in peace.

[ Kira:] My father showed me the importance of maintaining one's joys, such as family, home, and oneself, through hard work. Through his teachings and actions, I was able to learn that hard work isn't just for maintaining a living, but also for protecting life as well. Thank you daddy for helping me understand the importance of gaining knowledge through education and life experiences. Thank you for aiding in my development of strong principles and boundaries for protecting my inner peace and strengthening my resilience. With these tools, you've helped me build a sturdy foundation for my little family to stand on.

[Erica:] My father instilled in me a deep love and discipline for serving our country, inspiring me to enlist in the United States Army. Throughout my service, raising a family, pursuing advanced degrees, and striving to improve myself daily, I have carried his legacy of honor, dedication, integrity, and love for others. I hope and pray that I continue to uphold these values in his memory.

Miracles and blessings,

Erica Hill

[ Kimberly Eldridge ] One of the purest feelings that has stuck with me, throughout my life, is the feeling of unconditional love from my dad. No matter where I was in the world, he made sure that I had a welcoming; loving home to come back to if I ever so desired. As I matured, that feeling helped me to create the same life for my children. I love you Daddy!
