Mr. Willie Ferguson was born August 1, 1934, to the late Ben Ferguson Sr. and the late Anna Moss Ferguson, in Miami, Florida. He was the fifth child of seven children who all preceded him in death.
He attended public schools in Miami Dade County. Upon leaving school, he felt the need to serve his country by joining the United States Air Force. After being honorably discharged from the military in 1959, Willie relocated to Texas where he worked in construction as a foreman for several construction companies building colleges, sports stadiums, and other prominent buildings throughout the state.
In 1968, he was united in holy matrimony to the late Carrie Mae Ferguson, better known as “Sweets” who preceded him in death, and he was known as “Honey”. To this union, no natural children were born, but together they helped raise and nurtured many godchildren through the years.
Willie was a member of the St. James United Methodist Church for many years until his health declined. On February 6, 2024, the Lord called Willie home.
He leaves to cherish his memory: a nephew Hollot Ferguson, Jr.
(wife Euphemia) of Miami, Florida; niece, Barbara Ferguson Neal of Miami, Florida, and a host of grandnephews, grandnieces, godchildren, friends, and neighbors.
