Walter Eugene Anderson Jr. passed away from this earth to be with Lord peacefully in his home on early Monday morning August 15, 2022. Walter was born July 27, 1948, in Austin, Texas the fourth child of the late Walter Anderson and the late Drucilla Bostick Anderson. We all had nicknames and his nickname was Bigman and some of us called him Bubba. Walter accepted Christ at an early age at Grant Chapel AME Church in Austin, Texas. There he was active in the Sunbean Choir and the Young People"s Department. He loved the bible stories, especially the story of Job. Walter attended LC Anderson High School where he graduated in 1966. He later attended Paul Quinn College in Waco, Texas for 3 years before being drafted into the United States Army where he then served in the Vietnam War for 21/2 years and was honorably discharged due to an injury. Walter met and married Claudette West and two children were born into the union Niykea and Walter III. During the years he became physically and mentally challenged and his oldest sister Marian moved to Temple, Texas to care for him. He resided in Marian's care for 23 years until his passing on August 15. We loved Bigman very much. He was always a quiet brother but encouraged us to soar as high as possible. In his earlier years, he loved to sketch cartoon characters and was excellent at this talent. Walter is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Drucilla Anderson, and his brother James Douglas Anderson. He leaves to mourn the passing of Walter Anderson III (son); Niekya Anderson, (daughter). He leaves precious memories to his grandchildren and a great-grandchild. He leaves to mourn his precious memories to his sisters Marian Russell, Bishop Claudia Ford, Barbara McMurray, Karen Riley( husband Douglas); Priscilla Conner(husband Gary) Aquilla Anderson, and Yolanda Anderson's; a host of nephews, nieces, and other family members that love him very much. We will miss him terribly.
