teven Earl “Two Two” Riley, 61 of Austin, Texas was called home by GOD Almighty in the early morning hours on Friday, August 9, 2024. When his pain and suffering ended, his eternal life began. He will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him.

Two Two was born on March 24, 1963, to Johnnie Mae Riley in Temple, Texas. He was raised by his grandparents Johnnie Lee & Mary Lee Riley.

As a child growing up in Temple, he played city league baseball and went on to pitch for Temple High School. He graduated high school in 1980. He worked for Temple Produce and Centrifugal Castings in Temple, and American Spincast in Belton before moving to Austin where he landed a job with TX DOT.

Two Two loved to player poker and shoot pool. He had many friends throughout his lifetime; childhood friends, friends made in junior high & high school, and friends he made as an adult. For anyone that befriended Two Two, knew that they had a friend for life!

He retired on disability from Texas Dept of Transportation mailroom in December 2017. Two Two married his longtime girlfriend, Alice Vargas in Austin on February 28, 2020. When his health began to fail, Alice faithfully stuck by his side until God called him home.

He loved his family and friends more than anything and would always offer support where-ever needed. He was loved and cherished by his family and friends.

Two Two left this earth on Friday, August 9, 2024, in Austin, Texas. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Johnnie & Mary Riley; uncles Jimmie“Pinto” Riley, Ernest “Pig” Riley, and Billy Riley; and aunt Rev Barbara Riley Miller, all from Temple; and stepfather Eddie L Harris, Jr. of Atlanta GA.

He leaves to cherish his memories wife Alice Vargas Riley of Austin, Texas; son JaVarreyll Howard of Rosebud, Texas; mother Johnnie M Harris of Decatur, Georgia; sisters Teresa (Hans) Davis Lassiter of Indianapolis, Indiana, Katrina Harris of Decatur Georgia; brother Craig (Kenya) Harris of Fayetteville, Georgia; brother-in-law Joey Vargas of Austin, Texas; aunts Judy Boyd and Carolyn Riley, both of Temple, Texas; niece Kamari Harris and nephew Miles Harris both of Fayetteville, Georgia; beloved cousins/nieces & nephews Jackie Hill, Nikki Riley, Michelle Pankey, Andrea Boyd, all of Temple, Texas; Taron (wife Tiffany) Boyd, DaVawn Riley both of Austin Texas, Brent Boyd of Huntsville, Texas, Kenneth (Sharron) Riley of Temple, Texas, Ernest Riley, Jr. of El Paso, Texas. Brothers from another mother Wendell “Winkle” Wilson and Lance Jackson, and “best friend for life” Ronnie Hawkins of Jarrell, Texas. And most importantly, his loving & faithful dogs Buddy, Roxie & Smokey, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
