Mrs. Rhonda (Sherri) Carr was born March 12, 1954, in Temple ,Texas to the late Leroy and Carrie Pearl Evans. Sherri attended public school in Temple Independent School District (TISD) Sherri accepted Christ at a young age . She was a member of Bethel Independent Methodist Church. She met and married her confidant and forever love of 50 years to Arthur Lee Carr . The couple raised three beautiful and devoted children.( Jackie, James and Jeffrey) in Temple TX . Sherri was the proud owner of a business (BIG MAMA’s Soul food and kitchen ) Which put her in a position to carry out her passion for cooking socializing and being with her family and friend’s. Sherri was an active member of the Al Edward’s Temple Juneteenth. She loved helping people and was continually active in the community. Although a battle with Alzheimer’s stopped her from traveling and cooking ,but she still had a love for her family and friends and was always planning a Holiday Trip to Florida or Houston, TX to celebrate every occasion with the family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy Evans and Carrie Pearl Evans , loving sons : James Carr and Reggie Carr and granddaughter Ceressia Carr.
She leaves to cherish her memory and her legacy: a devoted husband, Arthur Lee Carr of Temple, TX; One daughter : Jacqueline Borton(Dave) of Killeen Texas ,One son : Jeffrey Carr(Denise) of Temple,TX and three sisters : Emmeline Porter of Tacoma Washinton , Jeanette Hurston of Houston ,TX, Anna Pearl Miner of Temple ,TX, two brother: Gary Hurston of Dallas ,TX and James Evans of Temple Texas. She is affectionately known as grandma to Jacquinshia Carr, and Carrinton Peterson of Killeen TX, Tymeshia Gilmore, Daniel Carr, Kolbie Tools, Alesa Lavan, Jeffrey Carr jr and Devonte’ Carr, all of Temple TX, Whitney Carr, Reggie Carr jr and Sacorria Carr of Florida. and known as GG to twenty-eight great grandkids that had her heart from the word go. She leave behind a host of other loving relatives (nieces, nephews, and cousins ) and dear friends.
