Service for Pauline Mable Gidding Byars 90, of Temple Will be Graveside Wednesday March 10, 2021 at Temple Garden of Memories Cemetery in Temple, Texas with Dr. C. Edward Maze, Officiating.
Pauline Mable (Gidding) Byars was born June 16, 1930, in Pendleton, Texas to the parents of the late Roger Lee, Sr. and Lottie Alexander Gidding. At an early age she and her family moved to Temple, Texas.
Pauline received her early childhood education in the Temple Independent School District and graduated from Dunbar High School in 1950.
She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at a young age at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, under the administration of Reverend A. G. Harris. She remained a faithful and active member until her health declined. During the course of her life, she was a member of Usher Ministry, Culinary Ministry, Naomia Circle and the Women’s Ministry.
On May 14, 1954, Pauline married Roy Lee Byars, Sr., and they remained married until he went to be with our Lord, March 16, 2016. They were blessed with three children, Glenn Dale, LaSherl and Roy Jr. (Bubba).
Pauline worked at Scott and White Memorial Hospital for 20 years as an Instrument Technician and retired in 1994. After retiring, she enjoyed spending time with her family cooking and baking.
She departed this life on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at local nursing care facility.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents Roger and Lottie Giddings, Roy Lee, Sr. her husband for over 60 years; a son, Glenn Dale; and one brother, Roger Lee (Billy) Jr.
Pauline leaves to cherish her memories: a daughter, LaSherl (Pastor Michael Thomas); one son, Roy Jr. “Bubba” (Lolitha); seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Robbie (Pat) Byars; sister-in-law, Ann White; daughter-in-law, Audrey Patterson; her best friend, Vivian Blocker, and a host of cousins, nieces, and friends.
