Service for Myrtle Buckner Anderson 88, of Temple will be Graveside Monday November 2, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at Temple Garden of Memories with Quinton Gibson, Sr. , Officiating.
Viewing and Visitation will be Monday November 2, 2020 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon at Don D. Summers Funeral Chapel in Temple, Texas.
Myrtle Buckner Anderson was born on October 8, 1932 to Webb Buckner, Jr. and Mattie Lee Buckner in Rosebud, Texas.
Myrtle received her formal education through Rosebud ISD, Myrtle began her career as a licensed beautician and later began working at Scott & White Hospital where she worked doing what she loved to do, preparing meals as a dietician.
Myrtle was united in Holy Matrimony to Cardell Anderson on May 29, 1954, at St. James United Methodist Church. Cardell and Myrtle were married for 54 years before his going home to be with the lord on January 4, 2009.
Myrtle dedication to St. James United Methodist Church proved her relationship with the Lord. Myrtle served as a Sunday School teacher to God’s Little Angels for over 20 years, she always made sure her quote; babies & quote; had everything they needed to grow in the spirit of the Lord.
Myrtle was one the founders of Willing Workers, she conducted fundraisers to help support the pastor and other activities throughout the church. She also took pride in being the highest earner for everyone Birthday fundraiser. Myrtle was also a member of the Voices of St. James for many years.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her loving husband, Cardell Anderson, her parents; Webb Buckner, Jr. and Mattie Lee Buckner; sisters, Gladys Locke and Erma lee Nealy
and brothers; Joe Lee Buckner and Webb Buckner, III.
Myrtle leaves to cherish her memories Myrtle Clemons , her niece who has supported her and taking care of her after the death of her husband ( Cardell), sisters; Rose Mary Buckner, Pearlene B. Gardner, Kathy Buckner Williams, sisters-in-love; Maple Ruth Anderson, Marion Anderson, Dr. Jeanette L. Stewart (Richard), Janet Smith, Berna Dean Anderson (Hazel), Stanley Anderson (Madie) and brother-in-love ; Joe L. Anderson (Thelma), grand daughters; Kiara Anderson and Konisha Anderson. She is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
