Mary Was born to Irene Lewis and Ed Blair on March 22, 1930 in Temple, Texas.
She attended public High School at Dunbar High School in Temple, Texas. After graduating from Dunbar she attended Prairie View A & M and Biggers Buisness College in California where she received a associates degree in Business Administration.
Mr. G. C. Meridith soon hired Mary Alice to be his secretary at Dunbar Jr – Sr High. Mary was an efficient office manager because she had to wear many hats.
July 29, 1950 Mary Alice married her soul mate Nathaniel Mitchell and they were married for 50 years.
Mary Alice joined Wayman Chapel Church when she was very young and was an active member until her health failed. She was Ardent Class leader ,Trustee and a member of Wayman Chapel Church for more than 50 years.
Mary was active in her community and a long time member of the NAACP.
Mary Volunteered at the Friendship House where she was know as the Domonoes Queen, she also lead aerobics with other senior citizens.
She also served as the President of the election voting system. This fashionable and elegant Lady enjoyed doing word puzzles,watching movies, and shopping. Mary was also a hudge baseball fan and favored the Atlanta Braves.
She depated this life on Friday January 24, 2025 in Houston, Texas.
She was preceeeded in death by her Parents, Son and Husband.
Mary is survivied by a loving and devoted daughter Bernadette Mitchell of Houston, Texas, a granddaughter Meagn Langley (Trey) of Brooklyn, New York, a loyal devoted cousin Mary Joyce Fowler of Temple, Texas; cousin Delores Williams of San Antonio, Texas; devoted friend Ken McMillion of Houston, Texas and other friends
