Mr. Lee Carl (L. C.) Dailey was born October 10, 1926, in Pendleton, Texas to the parentage of Bolton M. Dailey, Sr. and Anna M. Dailey. He attended Pendleton Elementary School, and in 1936, the family moved to Temple, Texas and he continued his education at Dunbar High School.
Mr. Dailey was a longtime member of Corinth Missionary Baptist Church. He began his service at the church during his early teens. He possessed a bubbling enthusiasm for the church, shown by the magnitude of positions he held. His tenure placed him in many areas of work namely: Senior Usher, Intermediate Sunday School Class Teacher, Assistant Superintendent of Sunday School, Director of Training Union, Chairman of the Board of Trustees. Mr. Dailey was recognized for his service as Building Fund Chairman and presented a plaque on February 24, 2002, and on February 24, 2008, he was selected “Corinth Christian Man of the Year.” He had a natural zeal for communicating and working with people enabling him to reach all heights in the name of Jesus.
His most diligent and praiseworthy service was in the Music Department. He was an accomplished musician fulfilling this dynamic position for many years. He served as Corinth Minister of Music and primary musician of the Sanctuary Choir, Male Chorus, and Combined Choir. Prior to serving at Corinth, he was also a musician for Mt. Olive Baptist Church, in Rogers, Texas, and Magnolia First Baptist Church in Belton, Texas.
Mr. Dailey united in holy matrimony to the love of his life Miss Irene Hightower on November 7, 1952, in Belton, Texas. This long and loving relationship reiterates that he was a compassionate and caring person.
He worked as a Production Manager and Route Supervisor with Temple Laundry and Cleaners in Temple, Texas, and retired after 40 years of service, and as a Funeral Attendant for Hornsby-Murcherson Funeral Home for 15 years.
Mr. Dailey believed that life is a creed and ultimately the same God who is the foundation of our hopes, the object of our faith, and the subject of our love, is also a model of our conduct, for God went about doing good, leaving us an example that we should follow His footsteps. This has been his philosophy of Christian living for certainty “With God all things are possible.”
He departed this life on Friday, December 27, 2024, at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, and four sisters.
He leaves to cherish his memories: a devoted wife of 72 years Irene Dailey of Temple, TX; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and many godchildren, too numerous to name.
