Jean was born June 7, 1948 in Biloxi, MS to the late Willie J Pope Sr and Priscilla Boudreaux Pope. Although she graduated from Ft Campbell High School in Fort Knox, TN; Jean was one of the first black students selected to integrate into the then all white Biloxi High in Mississippi. She was and always will be class of 1966 at M.F Nicolas High in Biloxi. After High School, Jean attended Tennessee State University, Central Texas College, and later completed her degree requirements in Belton at the University of Mary Hardin Baylor.
Jean found her home in Killeen, TX.
She was an active and devoted member of Marlboro Heights Missionary Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and the first director of the church’s learning center. Before retiring, she was an educator for KISD for almost 40 years.
On Friday December 27, 2024 Jean peacefully transitioned to her eternal home. Among those who preceded her earthly departure are her parents, Willie J Pope Sr. and Priscilla Boudreaux Pope; and nephew Obeduah Tsolumba.
Among those who live to cherish the honor of her godly legacy, her brother Willie Pope Jr. (Wendlyn); her sons, Othello Henderson III (Kimberlee), DuShan Henderson (Christina), RaShid Hines (Ilene); grandchildren, Brandon, Raphael, Angelo, Bianca, Ahlasia, DuShan II, Dallas and Langston Henderson; great-grandchildren, Faith Roque, Caiyle and Lux Henderson, and a host of other near and dear loved ones and friends.
