Hazel M. Cobb was the sixth child born to the late Jacob and Pleasant Matthews on August 1, 1926, in Asa, Texas.
She accepted Christ an early age and united with Carver Park Church, under the leadership of Pastor Robert T. Booker of Waco, Texas.
She attended and graduated from A.J. Moore, class of 1944. Hazel earned a living doing domestic work before her health declined. She was in the Union Baptist District Association - Usher/Nurses, serving many years as Treasurer.
She was a devoted member of Carver Park Church for numerous years, under the leadership of Pastor Gaylon Foreman.
Hazel met and married the love of her life, Jesse Cobb, and from this union had four beautiful children. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, church usher/nurses to all of her family and friends for many years.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; all of her siblings; and two grandchildren.
On Friday, September 30, 2022, at the age of 96, Hazel heard God’s call and the angels came and took her home.
She leaves to cherish her memory: one daughter, Beverly Ann Jones (Maurice) of Galveston, Texas; two sons: Alvin Cobb (Myra) of Belton, Texas, and Noah Cobb (Mary Lynn) of Temple, Texas; twelve grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, other relatives and friends. Hazel was loved by all and will be missed by many.
