George R Lyons, Jr

George R. Lyons Jr. was born to the late George R. Lyons Sr. and Tommie D. Ferguson-Lyons

on December 21, 1959, in Madrid Spain. Being raised with a father in the United States Air

Force George Jr. was able to travel to many locations throughout the USA. After his father

retired from the military they moved to Temple, Texas, where he attended Lamar Middle

School and Temple High School. While in high school he was a member of the high school

band’s drumline and performed during the halftime entertainment sessions. After

graduation in 1978 he attended Temple College while working at Smith Supply upon leaving

Smith Supply, he worked at Evco and then eventually worked at Pactiv in Temple.

He went home to be with his Lord on September 26th, 2025, at home surrounded by family.

He was 65 years old.

George was preceded in death by his parents, George and Tommie Lyons.

He leaves to cherish his memory Regina Tidwell-Freeman, three sisters Tina Lyons, Monica

Lyons-Harris, and Theresa Cloud all residing in Temple. Four nieces Teisha Lyons-Atkinson,

DaWann and Monica McIntyre, Brittany Harris, and one nephew O’Dell Lyons-Harris. Two

great nieces are Skylar and Jailynn Atkinson and other relatives and friends.
