Eric James Sanders

Eric James Sanders, affectionately known as “Big Baby”, was born in Okinawa, Japan on November 27, 1969 to James Sanders and Linda Simms. Eric spent part of his childhood abroad in Vicenza, Italy before relocating to the United States. Eric was baptized at a young age at Corinth Missionary Baptist Church in Temple, TX. Eric attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and graduated from Temple High School in 1987. In his adult years, Eric became a  truck driver. Eric enjoyed motorcycles and was an avid car enthusiast. Eric also enjoyed collecting swords and guns. Eric was a 32nd Degree Mason. On June 18, 2022, Eric joined Aketha Moore in Holy matrimony. Eric departed this life on January 23, 2024. Eric was preceded in death by his father, James Sanders, his son, Kengi Holmes, and his aunt, Janis McCall. Eric leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Aketha Moore-Sanders, his children Kevin Landrum, Eric Sanders, Jr., Brittany Cadwell, Kaitlyn Sanders, Khajee Moore, Aja Moore, and Asani Holmes; His mother Linda SImms (S.L. Simms); Grandchildren Nehemiah, Jeremiah, Jacobi, Jaylen, and Calvin; Sister in law Nekedra Moore; Special cousin Janna Jeffries. Eric also leaves behind his brothers, Harold Pruitt (Lauren), Cleveland Gossett (Cassandra), Chris Gardner (Mildred), George Allen (Krissy), Albert Dixon (Talkeena), Rev. Antione Whitman (Tammi), David Walker, and other members of the group known as LBC. Eric’s memory will certainly live on through those who loved him.
