Reverend Elbert Easter, Jr. was born to Elbert Easter, Sr. and Lessie Graves in Palestine, Texas on July 12, 1944.
He received his early childhood education in the Hillsboro Public School. In 1951, the family moved to Temple, Texas. He graduated from Dunbar High School in 1962.
He accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age in Hillsboro, Texas. In 1958, he united with Corinth Baptist Church.
Reverend Easter was a faithful member, and in his 65-year walk with God, he served in the following capacities: Deacon, Sunday School Teacher; Bible Study Devotional Leader, member of Men of God, and associate minister. He was licensed to preach June 24, 2012. He also was very active in the Lincoln District Missionary Baptist Association of Texas, Congress of Christian Workers, and the Missionary Baptist General Convention of Texas until his health failed.
He worked as a driver for Ponderosa Inn, and in the maintenance department at Temple College where he retired in 2007.
Reverend Easter loved fishing and was a member of Texas Fish and Game Association of Texas.
He departed this life on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 in a local nursing home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert Easter, Sr. and Lessie Graves; wife, Doris Easter; three brothers, Joe W. Easter, Harold Easter, and Joseph Easter; one sister, Helen Alexander.
He leaves to cherish his memories: one son, Darren Easter (Sabrina) of Houston, TX; one brother, James Graves of Oakland, TN; two grandchildren, Raqueis R. Davis, and Devion Easter, three devoted nieces, Donna Hamilton, Theresa Williams, and Cheryl Green, and a host of other nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends.
