Pastor Elder Eddie Johnson, Sr. grew up in Bartlett Texas, where he later became the pastor of Massey Memorial Church of God in Christ later renamed the Greater Peoples Church of God in Christ. Elder Eddie Johnson, Sr is the son of Gentra Lee and Emmett Lee Johnson of Bartlett Texas. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Theology from GMOR Theological Seminary in Houston Texas in addition to his recent studies. He also studied business management at Temple College at which time he started and opened up his own business as the proprietor of JOHNSON MOTORS USED CARS. He had five years experience in insurance sales, several years of experience in auto parts and pest control. Pastor Eddie Johnson, Sr. was also a member of the NAACP. He leaves to mourn with cherished memories four children: Shelonda Johnson, Evangelist Yolonda Johnson, Roshonda (Officer Dwight)Green, Eddie Johnson, Jr. all of Fort Worth Texas; five grandchildren: Tiffany Green, Crystal Green, Justin Green all of Fort Worth Texas, Darius Johnson of Killeen Texas, Dyllan Johnson of Fort Worth Texas; three great grandchildren: Nevaeh Johnson and My’kell Johnson of Killeen Texas, and Brandon Westbrook of Fort Worth Texas. He also leaves to cherish his memories three brothers: Joe Johnson of Elmira New York, Tony(Ericka) Johnson of Bartlett Texas, Ira(Christina) Carathers of Holland Texas; Six sisters: Willie B Mix of Carson California, Gentry Riggins of Los Angeles California, Bernice(David) Longmiles of Fort Worth Texas, Ferry(William) Raught of Crowley Texas, Rosie(Gentry) Powell of Amarillo Texas, Stella Crathers of Los Angeles California, and a host of aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, friends and family! He was preceded in death by his parents Emmitt and Gentra Johnon and his oldest brother Emmett Johnson, Jr.
