Doris “Bebe” Teague Manuel was born August 23, 1927 to the late William Leroy Teague and Delia Banks Teague in Heidenheimer, TX. She grew up in Rogers, TX with her parents and six sisters before moving to Temple, TX where she resided for the remainder of her life.
She was a passionate servant leader within her family, community and in her workplace. Doris retired from King’s Daughters Hospital where she worked for over 35 years as the head Chef. Into her 70’s, Bebe loved working in her lawn and took great pride in her well-maintained lawn on the corner block. For years, everyone knew her home as the green house on the corner with the beautiful lawn. You could regularly find her on the front porch in the morning or later in the evening. She never met a challenge that she didn’t face head on with the full intent to overcome it.
Doris taught her family by example to love fiercely, give to those less fortunate and to love the Lord with all your heart. Doris accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior in 1997, at the age of 70, and both served and worshipped faithfully at Crestview Christian Church, under the leadership of her nephew and Pastor Horace Miller.
Doris was preceded in death by her sons Lester William Crawford, Michael Manuel and Harold Wayne Manuel and her six sisters, Maggie Dynes Taylor, Betty Mae Johnson, Alma Lemons, Ruth Johnson, Mavis Pauline Richmond and Helen Louise Goodson.
She leaves to cherish her memories, daughters Annie Bell Adams (Nathaniel), Dianne Irvin (Rev. Jonathan), one son Ricky Manuel, her beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
