Deloris Lee (White) Brown

Deloris Lee White Brown was born March 13, 1930 to Felton and Lisa White in Schulenburg, Texas. She was the 12thchild.

Deloris Brown graduated from Schulenburg, Texas High School where she was  the Homecoming queen. Deloris Brown was Inihated into AKA October 9, 1976.

Mrs. Brown accepted Christ at an early age in Schulenburg, Texas at St. James Missionary Baptist Church. Upon moving to Temple served under Church of Christ in the area including 10th and M Church of Christ under Brother William Donaldson.

Deloris final church home was Ave G. Church of under brother Christopher Stephens.

She  met and married Daniel Ollie Brown in Belton, Texas on November 1, 1950 and to this union three children was born.

She also was part of the nurse aides at the first negro hospital in Temple called the Cora Anderson Negro Hospital. Deloris Brown worked at the VA Hospital in the laundry services.

Deloris Brown did many Community Services projects in the area.

She left the VA laundry for a career at Fort Hood Medical Records. She served in this capacity for 25 years earning several awards becoming the lead Medical Record Clerk at Darnall Army Hospital.

She retired at 25 years to be a housewife to care for her last son Alfred. The two of them would remain at home for the next 35 years.

This is where she , Daddy & Alfred would spend time shopping and going to church. Once Daddy left us they kept it going by matching outfits and staying at as many events as possible. Her Grandchildren are and still the light of her life, she fed, bathe, clothe, taught them all the essentials of life, it was her pride and joy to care for “kids”! Because we no longer owned them.

Deloris departed this life on Tuesday February 22, 2022 at her residence. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her Husband Daniel O. Brown, her parents, 5 brothers and 6 sisters.

She leaves to cherish her memories: One daughter Felecia A. Wilson of Desoto, Texas; two sons: Keith Brown ( Marie) and Alfred M. Brown both of Temple, Texas.;

Five grandchildren Krystal, Alexander, Alicia, Kee Zian and Daniel and a host of nieces, nephews family & friends.
