Chauncey Eugene Wilson

July 6, 1962 — June 7, 2025

Temple

The spirit of the Lord patiently waited to take the soul of our beloved Chauncey Eugene Wilson, to his eternal home in Glory on Saturday June 7, 2025.Chauncey Eugene Wilson “CC”, was born July 6, 1962, in Temple Texas, the oldest son to his beloved parents Wilbert Francis and Martha Nan Wilson Smith.

Chauncey’s formative years in school were attended in Temple Texas, and then he went on to attend Job Corps in Corpus Christi Texas where he received his diploma as well as a certification in welding. Furthering his education, Chauncey went on to attend Temple College where he pursued a degree in criminal justice.

Chauncey was blessed with five beautiful children with the first-born being Andre DeShawn Wilson (Loydetta Moore), and to follow was Thomas Smith (Lillie LaTonya Wilson), Ebony Smith (Lillie LaTonya Wilson), Ta’Mara Luv’Rael Wilson (Lillie Latonya Wilson), and Chelsie Paige Wilson (Trenna Williams-Semien).

Chauncey attended and received Christ as his lord and personal savior at Grace Temple ministries. Chauncey loved the Lord and was known to lock himself in his room for days to weeks searching the scriptures in order to know God more intimately. If he was a friend of yours then he was a true friend indeed. Chauncey was an extraordinary individual, and to know him was to love him. To add to that, Chauncey was a man who was full of creativity and brimming with many talents that just made life a little brighter for everyone around him.

Chauncey was a jokester, he loved to sing and go fishing, he had a voice that could light up a room. Chauncey also loved to barbecue, and he was a phenomenal artist. When it came to his paintings, he had a knack for capturing life, detail and feelings in his portraits. Added to his multi-talented persona, Chauncey had a flare for welding. You wouldn’t believe the barbecue pits that he created with so much care, skill, and craftmanship. What set Chauncey apart was his personality, and his kindness. Chauncey’s legacy goes beyond his achievements, it’s about the warmth and inspiration he brought to everyone he met, it was genuinely infectious. However, he was most known for his good heart and kind spirit, his love for family, his loyalty as a friend, and a protector of those he loved. Chauncey’s legacy and spirit of creativity, love, and loyalty live on in all the hearts he touched. Chauncey, from your children, brother, sister, and family you are loved and will forever be missed. We will carry you in our hearts forever, until we see you again, we love you always. Chauncey was preceded in death by his parents Martha Nan Wilson Smith, and his father Wilbert Francis and his brother Lawrence Keith Smith. He leaves to celebrate his homegoing, his five children, Andre DeShawn Wilson (Loydetta Moore), Thomas Smith (Lillie LaTonya Wilson), Ebony Smith (Lillie LaTonya Wilson), Ta’Mara Luv’Rael Wilson (Lillie LaTonya Wilson), and Chelsie Paige Wilson (Trenna Williams-Semien). His brother Laurence Kevin Smith (Karen Smith), his sister Sonja Trail (Raymond Trail Jr.), his brother Cedric Francis, 3 grandkids Idris Ahmad Wilson, Braden Brown, and Aasir Brooks. He also left a host of nieces and nephews, his beloved aunts, uncles and cousins. “The Wilson Family”
