Chanda Janel Bell was welcomed into this world on Saturday, September 20, 1969 at 4:41 pm by her parents Thomas and Sandra Bell.
Chanda attended schools in the Temple Independent School District where she was very active in Basketball, Volleyball, Track, a member of the Temple High School Marching Band and also a member of the Temple High School Kittens. She was a proud graduate of the Temple High School Class of 1988. After graduation, Chanda went on to further her studies at Temple College and earning an Associate’s Degree in Business. She also attended Baylor University, Waco, Texas and Excelsior University, Albany, New York where she earned her Bachelor of Liberal Arts, and a graduate of the Central Texas School of Cosmetology.
Being raised in a home where Jesus was the focal point, therefore at a young age she accepted Christ as her personal Saviour and united with the Mt. Zion Baptist Church and was baptized on March 16, 1980 by Dr. C. Edward Maze. While at Mt. Zion Chanda was active in the G. A. Girls, Young Adult Choir, Voices of Zion and the Praise Team. In 2009 Chanda united with Glory & Fire Non- Denominational Ministries under the leadership of Prophet Pamela Payne and assistant Pastor Sasha Seay. At Glory & Fire Chanda was an armor bearer to the Pastor, an Intercessor and served on the Prophetic and Praise Teams and a part of the Ministerial Staff.
Chanda had a wonderful career doing what she loved best. She found comfort and pleasure as a hair stylist and her clients often referred to her hands as blessed and anointed because she could grow and work miracles on their hair. She had a love for children and took great pride working as an educator teaching 1st grade at Raye-Allen Elementary School.
Chanda was a very unique and special person, she loved life and life loved her and she lived her life to the fullest. She always carried a smile with her wherever she went and when she was around she was the life of the party with her singing, laughing, dancing and bubbly personality.
Chanda was a wonderful and devoted mother to her 4 children Dion Ja, Delante, Vaderik and Saniyah, an outstanding daughter to her parents Thomas and Sandra and she was definitely a “Daddy’s Girl”, an amazing sister to her only brother Sean who was her best friend, an awesome grandmother to her 6 grandchildren. To her uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, she was indeed a blessing from God and will be missed by all. Belisha as she was often called by her family (a name given to her by Aunt Jewel) she will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
On Wednesday, December 11, 2024, God who never makes a mistake and in His infinite wisdom decided that it was time for Chanda to come home so he dispatched his ministering angels to come and get her and bring her back to Him. Although many family and friends have gone on before her, Chanda has 2 very special people, her grandmothers Mamie Louise Bell and Mae Dell Sams that are standing at heaven’s gates SINGING, SHOUTING, REJOICING and waiting with open arms to welcome her to her new heavenly home.
Those she left behind to cherish her memory and carry on her legacy are her parents, Thomas and Sandra Bell; 3 sons, Dion Ja Bell-Mays (Kayla), Delante Bell, Vaderik Grayer ( Teyah); Daughter Saniyah Galbreath, 6 grandchildren D’ayla, D’adrian, Brodrick, D’ierre, Le Andra, D’adriell, Brother, Sean Bell (Diondrea), 2nd Mother to De’Dreon (Kwa) Bell, De’Driell (Dee) Bell & Dai’Aashinae (Nae) Bell, Special Aunts: Georgia Mc Bride (Aunt Granny), Paula Norwid (Mark), Wanda Bell ( Oscar) & Theresa Lewis, God Parent’s: Alvin & Liz Stephens, God sisters: Jennifer Hall, Jamie Brew & Ashley Fowler, 2nd Mother Prophet Pamela Payne, and a great host of Uncles, Aunts, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, other relatives and many many friends.
