Catherine (Gossett) Powell

Catherine Gossett Powell of Morgan Point (Moffat, Texas) went from labor to reward on May 23, 2022.

Catherine was born on August 31, 1955 to Cleveland Gossett Sr. and Juanita Gossett in Big Spring, Texas.

She United in holy matrimony with Elmer Powell on December 23, 1982.

Catherine graduated from Big Spring High School in 1973. She went onto Pursue a higher education in the field of Medical Records receiving  a Association Degree from Temple College graduating  Cum Laude with a 4.0 average. She also persued other interest and hobbies such as jewelry making, cooking and baking, playing cards, dominoes.

In January 1989 Catherine and her husband moved to Houston, Texas and united with New Life Temple Church where she served as a faithful member.

She simply loved God and  loved sharing her dynamic testimony of the faithfulness of God through out  her life and teaching her Bible Study Classes.

Catherine worked for the Veterans Hospital for 30 years after retiring in 2019, her and husband moved back to Moffat , Texas.

Catherine was proceeded in death by her parents Cleveland Gossett Sr. and Juanita Gossett; eight brothers: Lewis Brown, Victor J. Brown, John Brown, Cleveland Gossett  Jr.,,., Joseph Gossett, Gregory Gossett, Wille Gossett, Jessie Brown; one son: James Curry

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband Elder Elmer T. Powell of Moffat, Texas; three daughters: Schrron Francis (Eddie) of Houston, Tx, Arana Kinch of Houston, Tx, Trinetia (Joe Urshel Bobby) Hayes of Houston: two sons: Leonard Curry ( Andie) of San Antonio, Tx, Jamason Curry ( Lou) of Houston, Tx; three brothers: George Gossett (Gale) of Jacksonville, Fl, Clearance Gossett  (Brenda) of Temple, Tx, Byron Gossettt ( Pamela) Jacksonville, Fl; one sister: Ruth Gossett Knox of Houston, Tx;: two sister in laws: Vernie Gossett of Temple, Tx, Charlotte Gossett of Arlington, Tx: Best Friend  Phoebe Roquemore of Houston, Tx and  a host of Nieces, Nephews, relatives and beloved friends.
