Bobbie Robinson

Minister Bobbie Person Robinson was born July 24, 1944, to Reverend Andrew Person and Mrs. Carrie Marie Person. She is the eighth of eight siblings and is blessed with a twin sister, Bettye Gobern.

She graduated from Dunbar High School in the class of 1962. She was active in sports, including basketball, a cheerleader, and ran track winning District and State Metals. She was part of the integration of Texas Women’s University; and graduated in 1966 having received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy, with a double minor in Psychology and Sociology. Minister Robinson was one of the first black students to graduate from Texas Women’s University.

She was the first black Occupational Therapist employed at the Temple V.A. Center and retired after 32 and a half years of service in 1997.

Minister Robinson has been a faithful and active member of Corinth Baptist Church for 65 years, and a member of choirs for 61 years. She was Chairperson of the  Pastor’s Anniversary Committee, Chairperson of the Publicity Committee, and a member of the Senior Women’s Mission, Mission Chorus, Ambassador Choir, and Armourbears. She was also a Sunday School Teacher for at least 30 years, and presently an Assistant Teacher, as well as a member of the Evangelical Staff and Temple Area Co-Ed Ministers Association.

She announced her calling into the Gospel Ministry in September 1997.

Minister Robinson was a multi-talented person who used them wherever needed.  She will be remembered and admired for her ardent singing, dedicated and committed services to Corinth, and a loving spirit to all who knew her.

She departed this life on December 29, 2023, at her residence.  She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and two sisters.

Minister Robinson leaves to cherish her memories one son, Wesley Williams, one daughter, Cabreia Ellsworth, a sister, Bettye Gobern, three grandchildren, Tavaushjane, Tavoya, and Ja’Zarrion Ellsworth, and a host of other relatives and friends.
