Billie D (Fisher) Mathis

Billie D. Mathis was born on December 13, 1929, to Spencer and Bessie Griffin-Fisher in Belltown, Texas. She was the third oldest of twelve children.

Billie accepted and gave her life to Christ at an early age at 10th& Ave M Church of Christ in Temple, Texas.

Billie worked and retired from Olin Teague Veterans Hospital after thirty-one years of service. She was an avid gardener and loved to cook. Billie also owned and operated “Red Bird” Daycare Center which led to the foundation of many friendships. She hosted many family reunions throughout the years showing her love for her family and friends. Billie was loved and admired by many for her many acts of kindness and her heart for helping others.

Billie was preceded in death by: her parents, Spencer and Bessie Griffin-Fisher. Her siblings, Bessie Jones, Margie Brown, Alma Fisher, Beulah Allen, Leroy Fisher, and Spencer Fisher Jr.

Billie leaves to mourn and cherish her memories, two sisters: Shirley Fisher and Gwendolyn Riggins. Three brothers: Lee Fisher, Bobby Fisher, and Arthur Fisher (Tommie). One daughter: Althea Anthony (Gene). Three grandchildren: Tammie Brazier (Tavares), Brandon Wall, and Shaquana Wall. Four great grandchildren: John Blasingame, King Green, Brionna Wall, and Brenton Wall and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
